Wedding

Marriage is one of life’s most memorable events. Because we want you to enjoy your or your child’s wedding as much as possible, we provide paid time off around the day of the event.

You get up to two paid days for the event of your marriage. You may take your time off immediately before or after the date of your marriage. You also get one day to attend your child’s wedding.

Sick days

Need time off for a doctor visit or medical procedure? Need to care for yourself or a family member? You’re eligible for five 100% paid sick days starting on your first active day of work.

Sick days are provided in addition to statutory sick leave and sickness benefits. If your doctor has issued a sick note for you, go through the Splunk Service Portal to start your sick time or short-term disability leave.

Volunteering

Community service is what we’re all about. Whether you volunteer with disaster relief efforts, national charities, schools, or local not-for-profit and community organisations, Splunk supports you.

All employees are eligible for up to 40 hours of paid time off each year to volunteer. You must schedule in advance and receive approval from your manager.

For more information, check out Social Impact on the Pwny portal.

Bereavement

Splunk understands that losing a loved one can be an extremely difficult time. We provide paid time off for you to attend funeral services, take care of personal matters, and grieve.

You get five paid days in the event of the death of an immediate family member (parent, spouse or child, including a child you lose through miscarriage or stillbirth). You get up to three paid days in the event of the death of an extended family member (sibling, grandparent, parent-in-law, grandparent-in-law or grandchild).

Disaster and epidemic time off (DETO)

Disasters come in many forms and can be triggered by both nature and people. Disaster and epidemic time off (DETO) allows you to take paid personal time off to deal with immediate, unforeseen and extraordinary events, such as significant public emergencies, natural disasters and pandemics or epidemics (e.g., COVID-19).

You get up to 30 working days (pro rata for part-time employees) of paid time off, in total, during your employment with Splunk. DETO days can be taken in full- or half-day increments.

Civic duty

You can take time off to appear at the request of a government or local authority, a court, the public prosecutor’s office, the police or an authority conducting misdemeanour proceedings.

Blood donation

Women can take up to eight days a year to donate blood, while men can take up to 12 days a year. You’ll need to provide a doctor’s note, which will determine the amount of time off you get.
