Annual leave

Whether you want to take a trip, run some errands or just read a book, it’s important that you take time away from work to do the things you love so you can be at your best.

  • Regular, full-time employee? Start accruing leave on your first day of employment, and accrue 1.67 days (13.34 hours) per month, up to 20 working days (160 hours) per year. If you’re in Jammu and Kashmir, you accrue 1.84 days (14.67 hours) per month, up to 22 working days (176 hours) per year.
  • Part-time employee? Accrue annual leave on a pro rata basis. The amount depends on how many hours you regularly work in a month.

You should take all your annual leave during the calendar year in which it’s accrued.

Sick days

Need time off for a doctor visit or medical procedure? Need to care for yourself or a family member? Splunk’s sick time policy lets you take care of yourself, so you can get back to doing the things you love.

All full-time and part-time employees are immediately eligible for paid sick days. You get 15 sick days each year.

If you need to be off work more than five business days (or seven calendar days), you’ll need to file for a short-term disability leave through the Splunk Service Portal.

Paid casual leave

Sometimes unforeseen personal issues come up, or you need an occasional day off. When that happens, you can take paid casual leave.

If you’re a full-time or part-time employee, you’re eligible for 12 days (96 hours) of paid casual leave per calendar year. If you’re in Jammu and Kashmir, you’re eligible for 14 days (112 hours) of paid casual leave per calendar year.

Bereavement

Splunk understands that losing a loved one can be an extremely difficult time. We provide paid time off for you to attend funeral services, take care of personal matters and grieve.

You get five paid days in the event of the death of an immediate family member (parent, spouse or child, including a child you lose through miscarriage or stillbirth). You get up to three paid days in the event of the death of an extended family member (sibling, grandparent, parent-in-law, grandparent-in-law or grandchild).

Disaster and epidemic time off (DETO)

Disasters come in many forms and can be triggered by both nature and people. Disaster and epidemic time off (DETO) allows you to take paid personal time off to deal with immediate, unforeseen and extraordinary events, such as significant public emergencies, natural disasters, and pandemics or epidemics.

You get up to 30 working days (pro rata for part-time employees) of paid time off, in total, during your employment with Splunk. DETO days can be taken in full- or half-day increments.

How to request time off

  3. Submit your time-off request through Workday.
